BenQ Mobile presents the ultra-slim BenQ-Siemens EL71 slider phone at CeBIT 2006. This exquisite designer mobile draws all eyes with its clear lines and timeless elegance.

While only a mere 16.5 mm thick, this exclusive mobile telephone with solid, real metal casing in brushed aluminum and magnesium fulfils the highest demands in terms of design and convenience. Its slender form and authentic materials put the BenQ-Siemens EL71 at the cutting edge of design trends in the mobile phone industry. After all, design is one of the most important selection criteria when buying a mobile phone. According to a recent pan-European survey [1] , every eighth person to buy a mobile opt for a particular model because of its design. Moreover, every fourth retail customer who spontaneously selects a different model before purchase stated design was one of the decisive factors for the choice to buy.

 

The BenQ-Siemens EL71 does not only look sophisticated, it also feels exceedingly good to touch. The ergonomic design of the keypad combined with the ProSLIDE semi-automatic slider mechanism make operation particularly user-friendly. With only a slight push, the top and the underside of the mobile phone glide gently apart.

 

This high-class design is rounded off by the brilliant 2-inch QVGA display that glows in 262,144 colors and supplies excellent quality in text and photo replay. Whether inside or outdoors, the EL71’s high-grade display can always be read perfectly in all light conditions.

 

Spontaneous photo enjoyment on the move is ensured by the integrated 1.3 megapixel digital camera with improved LED photolight and a video function for shooting and replaying short movie sequences. There is also a music player for MP3 and AAC+ music files on board. Using the Music Cable IHM-100 (available as an original accessory), the mobile only has to be connected to any hi-fi system – and every party can rock to top-quality sound. There is sufficient storage space for all multimedia content on microSD cards that can be simply plugged into a slot on the mobile phone.

 

A large selection of original accessories is available to complement the BenQ-Siemens EL71. For example, the stylish Headset Bluetooth clip (EU/UK) HHB-130/131 (available from May 2006) that can be connected wirelessly via Bluetooth lets you really have your hands free while you talk on the phone. In addition, the Car Kit Bluetooth SIM HKW-720 gives you the greatest possible safety and convenience when making calls in the car.

 

After the EF81 clamshell mobile and the S68 in classic bar form, the EL71 slider phone is the third mobile in the BenQ Mobile range to captivate with ultra-slim design and authentic metal materials. Thus BenQ Mobile now offers super-slim devices in every form factor. The BenQ-Siemens EL71 will be available on the market in April 2006 in the color “Quartz Anthracite” and will also be available shortly thereafter in the color “Opal Black.” Prices will be determined locally.
