Java Masters 2006 Competition – Vote and Win

The final decision in the international Java application development competition organized by BenQ Mobile and Sun Microsystems is drawing near. Between the 16 th of June and 16 th of July, visitors to the www.javamasters.org website will be able to select the best applications and vote for the contestants they think should win the coveted Java Masters Award mid–August. The jury, comprising Java experts from BenQ Mobile and Sun, has made a pre-selection of the 10 best applications in the "Student" and "Professional" categories. Now it is up to interested visitors to the Java Masters website to make the final decision. Not only will voting decide the final Award winners. Voters will also have a chance to win many attractive prizes, for example multimedia mobile phone from BenQ Mobile.
BenQ Mobile offers successful applications the access to their sales channels. Meanwhile, more than four million Java developers worldwide are organized into the Sun Microsystems iForce Community developers’ network, which can be accessed online at java.sun.com
"The Java Masters competition helps more developers than ever before to become partners of a global handset player, and speeds up with market success. The Award will be presented in two categories: "Student Java Master" and "Professional Java Master". Exceedingly promising innovations come from several GPS-based navigation utilities, exciting 3D-Games or Multimedia- and Business applications enabling access to online communities.
Among the applications submitted, the front-runners came especially from China, India, Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, and Brazil.

This year´s awards for the first prize winners will be held during the Games Convention Developer Conference from the 21 st until 22 nd of August in Leipzig, Germany. Attractive technological prizes from BenQ Mobile and Sun Microsystems await the winners.
Visitors to the www.javamasters.org website can vote for the ten pre-selected Java applications in the two categories "Student" and "Professional".
