The mobile phone tool now adds support for Siemens X75 series (except SXG75) and also supports synchronization of contact and calendar data in iPods and Tobit David.
Jumping Bytes, a specialist for mobile phone management and SMS communication, announced today the release of Mobile Master 6.2. With the latest version of this mobile phone tool, iPod users can now synchronize their contact and calendar data between various contact management programs on their PC and iPod. Until now, data synchronization was only available for Outlook and Outlook Express using iTunes as the interface. With the new Mobile Master software, users of Thunderbird, Palm Desktop and Lotus Notes can also have this functionality. An added bonus is that Winamp and iTunes play lists can now also be transferred to mp3-enabled cell phones.
Another improvement is support for Tobit David V.8. Mobile Master 6.2 is the first software to permit synchronization of contact and calendar data between mobile phones and Tobit David. Until now, no software was available to synchronize mobile phones with this Personal Information Manager (PIM). Mobile Master 6.2 is not only the first to provide this function, but provides it for all Samsung, Siemens, Nokia and Sony Ericsson mobile phones.
This means that both iPod and Tobit David users now have reliable, easy-to-use software to transfer contacts, appointments, and to-do lists to PCs, regardless of what mobile phone or contact management software they use. Mobile Master is continually updated to work with the latest contact managers and mobile phone models. Thus, this latest update adds support for the Siemens 75 series (except SXG75), Sony Ericsson’s W900i and W550i, and Samsung’s SGH-D600, SGH-X640, SGH-X660 and SGH-E730.
Data synchronization for all email clients and contact management programs has been completely revised.
“The iPod’s large storage capacity lends itself ideally to storing contacts, along with attached photos,” explains Christoph Güntner, lead developer at Jumping Bytes. “The new version of Mobile Master makes iPod users even more mobile since they are not limited to using certain contact managers to exchange data stored on PCs.”
Mobile Master 6.2 (approx. 10 MB) can be downloaded at mobile-master.com/down.htm. The 30-day test version is a full version with one limitation: it can load a maximum of 20 phone book entries from PC to cell phone.
Mobile Master can be purchased online in light (€ 9.90), standard (€ 18.90) or professional versions (€ 27.90). Differences in functionality between the various versions are described under mobile-master.com/bestellen/best.html. Customers are entitled to free updates for 1 year. The program itself, as well as the help file, is available in German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch.
ABOUT MOBILE MASTER
Mobile Master from Jumping Bytes is a software for cell phone management and SMS communication. The goal is to transmit contact (phone/address book), scheduling and task data from cell phone to PC and vice versa. The uniqueness of Mobile Master is, on the one hand, the cross-platform support of numerous cell phone models, and on the other hand, the integration to the most common email clients or contact management programs. Most standard cell phone models from Siemens, Sony Ericsson, Nokia or Samsung are automatically recognized via cable, infrared, or Bluetooth. Every cell phone is given its own profile to support the management of several cell phones without creating data chaos. An assistant helps with the settings. Even users without a technical background can export their cell phone’s address book data to the PC with just a few mouse clicks. The logical structure of the user interface clearly presents the most important functions which are invoked using icons, such as e.g. phone books, calendar, call lists, SMS center or copy station.
Prior to the actual synchronization, a data comparison uses colored highlights to display old, modified, and new data, making corrections possible. Filters and automatic routines can be defined for future actions, e.g. that the cell phone address book is automatically synchronized with Outlook whenever it is in range of the PC. Once a connection has been established, the desired data can not only be compared to the Outlook contact database, but also to Thunderbird, Lotus Notes, Palm Desktop, and numerous other programs.
Data transfer between old and new cell phones, also irrespective of manufacturer and across platforms, is no problem with the function “Copy Station”. Moreover, contacts, calendar, and SMS can be conveniently edited and managed. In addition to the exhaustive integration to different PC applications, transferred data can be exported in Word or Excel or as a text file with separators.
With the optional program SMS Servant, SMS (text messages) can be received, composed, and sent like emails in Outlook. SMS Servant is included with the Mobile Master installation, but is subject to a separate licensing fee.
