With the new phones in the BenQ Mobile A-Series the highly-coveted clamshell and slider forms are now on offer to entry-level users at last. These phones stand out from their peers for ease-of-use, essential features and the sterling quality of material and finishing that belies their affordable price. Ideal for those who want functionality without frills, these new phones combine superior quality, reliability and convenience with compact forms and all the essential voice and messaging features required for daily communication needs.

Technology has been applied in the A-Series phones to reduce complexity. All models have a clear, ergonomic keypad layout facilitating intuitive use, with the space between keys optimized to suit all fingers. Simplified, self-explanatory navigation, straightforward menu options and a colored user interface enable the user to quickly become confident in operating the phones. Fast access to functions is aided by “short-cuts” - speed dialing keys allowing e.g. the alarm clock function to be activated at one click by pressing “3” - and the iconic Siemens 4-way navigation key design. To suit all individual needs, programmable soft keys, 32-chord polyphonic ringtones and wallpaper permit personalization of the new A-Series mobiles.

Function meets design. Ergonomically shaped for comfortable handling and equipped with a large, high-resolution, color display (at least 128 x 128 pixels, 65,536 colors), the new A-Series phones have a modern, contemporary yet timeless design with a visibly valuable finishing, painted colors and chrome details. WAP and GPRS access, along with MMS functions, ensure that communication is not restricted to phone calls, allowing pictures and sounds to be received and viewed to advantage. Additionally, all travel and leisure needs are covered on the new A-Series mobiles by an organizer, the preinstalled emergency phone book, a survival dictionary for several languages, and at least two games. With a selection of optional accessories like headsets, chargers, data cables and a portable car kit these phones can be enhanced to suit every lifestyle and every pocket.

Siemens AF51

The Siemens AF51 is a clever, small and slim clamshell phone (79 x 41 x 20 mm) that combines reliable connectivity with contemporary style, making it the best in its class and great value for money. Keeping in touch with family and friends is simple using this pocket-sized phone with integrated antenna. The external (96 x 64 pixels) display boasts a classy mirror effect, while the durable internal display (130x130 pixels) is protected by scratch-resistant glass. Moreover, both displays are in full color (65,536 colors), another first in this segment. An Incite Service Light Indication LED informs the user about missed calls or incoming text messages in even the gloomiest light conditions. This ultra-compact phone with distinct clamshell shape comes in a high-quality finish with satin metallic colors of Panther Black and Dolphin Grey that meld subdued elegance with overtones of glamour.

Siemens AL21

Young, fashion-conscious mobile phone users will delight in the Siemens AL21. It is the first phone in its segment to sport the up-to-the-minute slider function. With its cool design, this small, slender phone with integrated antenna will turn heads in any situation. Programmable keypad sounds let users personalize their AL21 as they desire. Managing a busy social life on a low budget makes no compromises in style with the AL21’s intuitive slider mechanism and integrated voice, messaging and organizer functions. Seductively stylish, yet sporty and young, its high-fashion colors Red Temptation and Black Magic and anodized-effect metallic paint finish with translucent plastic rear casing are guaranteed to set a trend among friends and colleagues.

Siemens A31

Casual organization encapsulates the Siemens A31. Minimalism meets efficiency in this slender, bar-shaped phone that contains essential organizer technology. A calendar with incorporated reminder function and an alarm clock make life simple by keeping track of names, addresses, as well as important dates, events or appointments. An agenda icon on the navigation key allows speedy access. Because the phone also comprises a unit converter and a world clock, the cumbersome diary and alarm clock can be left at home. Customization is only a click away with MMS pictures, animation or logos at hand. The understated, silver metallic finish of the A31 with chrome accents in Anthracite or Ruby Red complement its pure, extruded shape and maximize comfort in handling and carrying.

All products will be available throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia in the first quarter of 2006. Prices will be available locally.
